The Secret Life of Birds
ABOUT US
We are a team of scientists, including researchers at the University of Sheffield and students at Maltby Academy, who are studying the behavioural ecology of birds. We have set up an ecological field laboratory at our school site in Rotherham (South Yorkshire, UK) and are using it to make observations and conduct experiments to test hypotheses about bird behaviour.

The project is led by Dr Nicola Hemmings (Department of Animal & Plant Sciences, University of Sheffield) and Dr Amanda Naylor (Maltby Academy), and funded by a Partnership Grant from the Royal Society. We will be presenting some of our work at the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition 2016 - don't miss it!
We are also having lots of fun learning about bird-related research carried out by the Department of Animal & Plant Sciences, University of Sheffield, and catching birds and other wildlife on our fantastic wildlife camera traps!
